Through the combined efforts of STEMconnector’s initiatives, we are launching a study to better understand current practices among employers and educators in offering experiential learning — work designed to give students the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience while working on real-world problems — opportunities to students. A recent survey conducted by Gallup found that emotional support [such as mentorship] and experiential learning are some of the most important contributors to long-term success and yet students do not feel they are being offered enough of these opportunities. STEMconnector aims to improve this but first needs to understand why. This survey is a critical first step by which we hope to bring to the national arena. Your perspectives are invaluable to having an impact on the STEM talent shortfall and we thank you for your contribution.
This survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. Please feel free to forward to others who would have a helpful viewpoint.
